Admissions & Getting Started
How do I know if I need residential treatment?
If substance use is affecting your health, relationships, work, or daily functioning and you have tried to stop on your own without lasting success, residential treatment is likely the right level of care. Call us and our admissions team will listen to where you are and give you an honest recommendation with no obligation attached.
What if I am not sure I am ready?
That feeling is more common than you might think. Readiness rarely feels clean or certain. It usually looks more like exhaustion, or a quiet sense that something has to change. You do not have to have it all figured out before you call. Our team is not here to pressure you.
How quickly can I get admitted?
In many cases, same-day or next-day admission is possible. If you or someone you love is in crisis, do not wait.
Insurance & Cost
Does insurance cover addiction treatment at Holland Pathways?
Holland Pathways is in-network with many major insurance providers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Tricare, Medica, and MultiPlan. Most insurance policies are required by law to include some level of substance use disorder treatment benefits. Call us or use our online verification tool to confirm your specific coverage.
What if I do not have insurance?
Call us anyway. Our admissions team can walk you through private pay options and work with you to find a financial path forward. Cost should not be the reason someone does not get help.
What to Expect in Treatment
How long is the residential program?
Our residential program is 60 days — twice the length of the standard 30-day model. The additional time gives your brain and body the full window needed to move past early stabilization, process underlying trauma and mental health issues, and build the skills that will carry you forward.
What does a typical day look like?
Your day will be structured but personalized. It typically includes individual therapy, group sessions, evidence-based clinical modalities such as DBT or TMS, and whole-person programming like yoga, art or music therapy, mindfulness, and shared meals with the community.
Is the environment welcoming for people who have been to treatment before?
Absolutely. Many of our clients have been through treatment previously. We treat that as important information that helps us build a better plan this time. Some members of our clinical team have walked the path of recovery themselves and understand this firsthand.
Clinical Therapies
What therapies are available at Holland Pathways?
Our clinical toolkit includes DBT, CBT, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), brainspotting, trauma-informed care, and individual and group therapy. We also offer whole-person programming including art therapy, music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, animal therapy, and spiritual care.
Do you treat co-occurring mental health disorders?
Yes. Our dual-diagnosis approach means we assess and treat both addiction and co-occurring conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders) simultaneously within the same program.
What is TMS and who is it for?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared therapy that uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain affected by depression and addiction. No sedation, no downtime. It is particularly effective for clients with treatment-resistant depression or those who have not responded fully to medication alone.
Aftercare & Alumni
What happens when residential treatment ends?
Most clients step down into our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), followed by Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) programming. Each level gradually reduces clinical intensity while keeping you supported as you re-enter daily life.
What is the Alumni Program?
Our Alumni Program connects graduates with each other and with ongoing peer support, events, and community touchpoints — led by our dedicated Alumni Coordinator. It is free, open to all graduates, and built on the belief that the community you found here does not end when you leave campus.
Family & Loved Ones
How can I help a loved one get into treatment?
Start with an honest, compassionate conversation — not a confrontation. Focus on what you have observed and how you feel. If you are not sure how to approach it, our admissions team can guide you, and our free guide, Helping a Loved One Find Treatment in Wichita, is a good place to start.
Does Holland Pathways have a program for veterans?
Yes. We offer comprehensive addiction and PTSD treatment for veterans, with clinical expertise in trauma, TBI, chronic pain, and the unique mental health challenges that come with military service. Our admissions team has experience working directly with the VA on benefits and financial planning.
Still Have Questions?
We would rather you ask than wonder. Our admissions team is available now.
